OTTAWA — Ottawa police have taken a 27-year-old Ottawa man into custody in connection with a stabbing that sent a 31-year-old Ottawa man to a Kansas City area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Rocky Stephenson was stabbed during a fight early this morning in the 500 block of North Hickory Street, Police Chief Dennis Butler said. Stephenson was taken to Ransom Memorial Hospital and later transferred by ambulance to Overland Park Regional Medical Center where he was taken into surgery. Butler said he didn’t have an update on Stephenson this afternoon. A suspect identified as Mike Wilson and fled the scene on foot, Butler said. Ottawa police officers and Franklin County deputies searched for Wilson. However, police later found Wilson, Butler said.
