OTTAWA — Franklin County Sheriff Jeffrey Richards office completed participation in the 106th session of the National Sheriffs’ Institute held in Aurora, Colo., last week. Richards is the first sheriff of Franklin County to graduate from the NSI. The NSI is a no-cost program and is the only national executive development program designed for sheriffs. He joined 25 other sheriffs from across the country for training on contemporary challenges facing America’s sheriffs today. The sheriffs explored their role in providing effective leadership for the public good in such areas as public safety, criminal justice system policy, community relations, and organization effectiveness and efficiency.
