POMONA – Two people from Quenemo who robbed the Goppert State Service Bank in Pomona earlier this year await sentencing in U.S. District Court in Kansas City. Sentencing is set for Nov. 24 for the man who entered the bank and committed the robbery. An accomplice handed Caleb Jeffcoat a mask and BB gun and he entered the bank and robbed a teller. He pleaded guilty. Court records indicate that three separate pre-sentencing reports about Jeffcoat have been submitted to the judge. A Quenemo woman, Christel Collins, is also awaiting sentencing but no date has been scheduled for her. A pre-sentencing report on Collins was submitted to the judge last week. A third Quenemo man, Robert Martin, has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for helping to rob the bank.
