OTTAWA — A 45-year-old Ottawa woman died after she ran into a truck on I-35 at the Eisenhower Road interchange late Friday night. Navdeep Singh, 34, Flushing, Mich., was driving his truck south on I-35 when he pulled over onto the shoulder and slowed to come to a stop on the shoulder, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Julia Gillespie, Ottawa, was going south-bound on the shoulder and struck the truck, the highway patrol said. She was taken to Overland Park Regional Hospital, where she later died. She was wearing a seat belt. A passenger in Singh’s truck, Harbhajan Dhuna, 55, Shelby Township, Mich., was injured and was taken to Ransom Memorial Hospital. Singh wasn’t injured. They were both wearing seat belts.
