OTTAWA — Two long-time Ottawa police officers were honored during their formal retirement Friday. Capt. Randy Allan has been in Ottawa law enforcement 28 years and Sgt. Mark D’Augereau began his 29-year law enforcement career at Medicine Lodge. Both worked as officers and firefighters with the Ottawa Dept. of Public Safety. When the department was dissolved, they chose to stay with the police department. Allen was an original member of the Special Tactics and Rescue team (STAR). He served as the detective unit lieutenant. He supervised the administrative office of the police department as both lieutenant and captain. He volunteered at the summer DARE camp 1987-2014. D’Augereau was also an original member of the STAR team and served as the supervisor of the team. During his last three years, he supervised both the detective unit and STAR team.
