GARNETT — The Garnett Area Community Band will open its annual concert season by performing its “M&M” spring concert 3 p.m. Sunday in the Anderson County Junior-Senior High School auditorium at Garnett. That’s M&M as in “Marches and Musicals.” Under the direction of Jeff Russell, the band will play marches by John Philip Sousa, E.E. Bagley and other classics. The band will also play selections from film musicals including “Carousel,” “South Pacific,” “My Fair Lady,” “The Sound of Music,” and “Mary Poppins.” The concert is free. Refreshments will be served immediately following the concert in the commons area with free-will donations for the band.
