OTTAWA — In the spring time, it’s time for gardening. It’s also time for garden-related thefts. A 55-year-old Pomona man reported last week that someone cut his garden hose and used it to siphon gas from his mower in the 500 block of Jefferson Street in Pomona, the Franklin County sheriff’s office said. The estimated loss was approximately $30. Two blowers and two trimmers were stolen from Premiere Lawn and Landscaping in the 2600 block of Sand Creek Road north of Ottawa last week. The loss was estimated at $2,000. A 50-year-old Williamsburg man reported Saturday afternoon that his brother’s John Deere mower was taken from a barn on his brother’s property in the 700 block of Idaho Road southeast of Williamsburg. Anderson County deputies stopped Patrick Bryant, 32, while dragging a John Deere mower behind his vehicle, the Franklin County sheriff’s office said. Bryant was booked into the Anderson County jail for driving on a revoked license. He is being held without bond. The Franklin County Sheriff’s office said he’ll be picked up when he is released from the Anderson County jail.
