OTTAWA — If he was trying to avoid attention, it didn’t work. A 39-year-old Kansas City man faces several charges following a chase on I-35 that originated in Osage County and ended in Franklin County Friday afternoon. The Franklin County Sheriff’s office said that following the chase, Shannon Cooper was booked into the Franklin County jail for suspicion of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, felony fleeing and eluding, and driving while suspended. Afterwards, Wyandotte County filed four counts of failure to appear, and Jackson County, Mo., issued warrant against Cooper for failure to appear. He remains in the Franklin County jail.
