BUCYRUS — Autopsies were scheduled Tuesday afternoon on two bodies found at the scene of a fire in northeastern rural Miami County. The autopsies were scheduled to determine the identity of the two bodies and the cause of death, Miami County Undersheriff Wayne Minckley said. Although the bodies haven’t been officially identified, Minckley said the sheriff’s office hasn’t found the owners of the house that was destroyed. Kansas City television stations have said the owners are Mike and Sandy Jerden. KMBC Channel 9 reported Mike Jerden operated a drywall business and his wife Sandy worked at the deli counter at an Overland Park Price Chopper. Minckley said when firefighters arrived in the 3400 block of West 239th Street east of Bucyrus, the house, barn and a vehicle were engulfed in flames. Their efforts were complicated by ammunition exploding inside the residence and a barn.
