PAOLA — A 30-year-old Paola man died as a result of falling from a golf cart early Sunday morning. Deputies and emergency crews were sent to a report of a golf cart accident on 343rd Street between Hospital Drive and Harmony Road in Paola shortly after 3:30 a.m., Miami County Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Talcott said. Four adults were in the golf cart, which was going east on 343rd Street, he said. Michael Everhart fell from the golf cart, hitting his head, he said. He was taken to Miami County Medical Center, where he died of his injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
