OTTAWA — Two people were taken to Ransom Memorial Hospital as a result of a two-vehicle crash on K-68 in Ottawa just west of the I-35 overpass Friday. Brandon Nelson, 34, Ottawa, was driving east in the right-hand lane of K-68, the Kansas Highway Patrol’s Web site reported. Horace Bowden, 57, Wellsville, was was driving east in the left-hand lane of K-68. Nelson tried to make a U-turn across the lanes and cut in front of Bowden’s pickup, the highway patrol said. Bowden tried to avoid Nelson’s car but hit it. Nelson and a passenger in his car, Christine Nelson, 41, Ottawa, were taken to the hospital. Bowden wasn’t injured. They were all wearing seat belts.
