OTTAWA — Due to the windstorm that passed through town Monday night, Ottawa public works department crews will collect limbs placed at curbside. Crews will pick up larger limbs today and make one pass through the city next week and one pass through the city the following week ending July 31, public works director Michael Haeffele said. This will allow property owners and residents time over the next two weeks to clean up. However, he says limbs should be moved to the street as soon as possible. To make collection easier and to limit damage to yards, stack the limbs parallel and close to the street curb. Collections cannot be made in alleys due to space limitations. The city will also have a brush collection site in the 1300 block of North Cherry Street for those who wish to dispose of limbs themselves.
