OTTAWA — Franklin County economic development director Jeff Seymour has announced his resignation.  Seymour will take a similar position in Oklahoma City.  He’ll leave Ottawa Oct. 2.  He has been the executive director of the Franklin County Development Council for three years.  “While extremely excited to take on this new challenge, it is with real sadness that my wife and I leave behind a tremendous amount of personal and professional relationships to make this transition,” Seymour said. “… We look forward to seeing the success that you will each continue to have take shape even if it will be from a little bit more of a distance.”  During his tenure, the city of Ottawa, Franklin County and FCDC created the Rock Creek Industrial Park south of Ottawa and Ottawa voters approved a half-cent sales tax to help develop it. The FCDC also updated a special labor market survey for the county as well as expanded business and industrial recruitment efforts in communities outside of Ottawa.  The FCDC will work diligently to make the hiring process as seamless as possible, he said.
