MELVERN LAKE – A 26–year-old Lyndon man was killed Saturday night in a one-vehicle crash three miles south of Melvern Lake in rural Osage County. Cory Sprecker was dead at the scene when deputies and emergency workers responded to a report of a accident in the 32900 block of Morrill Road about three miles south of the eastern edge of the lake, the Osage County Sheriff’s Department said. Sprecker was thrown out after pickup he was riding in rolled over several times. The sheriff’s office identified the driver as 15-year-old Samuel Chase Jones, 15, Melvern. Jones was driving Sprecker’s pickup and Sprecker was in the front passenger seat, the sheriff’s office said. Ethan Totty, 15, Lebo; and Jackson Fitch, 12, Lyndon; were in the back seat of the pickup. Jones, Totty and Fitch received minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
