OVERBROOK — An Overbrook man was shot early Thursday morning after he apparently broke into a home in Overbrook. The Overbrook Police Department said Bruce Jolly, 48, had been shot and later listed in critical condition at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka. Osage County 911 was notified by a resident of Overbrook that an intruder had forced his way into her home, she shot him and the intruder fled, the police said. Shortly after that call, The police say received a call from Jolly, who reported he had been shot and was at a neighbor’s house. Overbrook police said that search warrants were conducted at both the Jolly residence and the woman’s home to collect evidence. The woman, who was not identified, wasn’t injured and wasn’t arrested. The case has been turned over to Osage County Attorney Brandon Jones, the Osage County Sheriff’s Department said.
