OTTAWA — Thieves were going mobile in Franklin County this weekend. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department received two vehicle thefts Friday afternoon. A 49-year-old Pomona man reported his 1998 Toyota Camry was stolen from his home in the 1000 block of K-68 east of Pomona. The loss was estimated at $1,000. A 52-year-old Alma man reported his 2001 Ford F-150 XLT pickup was stolen from the 3500 block of U.S. 59 north of Ottawa. The loss was estimated at $2,500. A 77-year-old Ottawa man reported Saturday afternoon that his 12-foot Lowline john boat was stolen from his pond in the 3900 block of Louisiana Road northwest of Ottawa. T he loss was estimated $45. In addition, a 41-year-old Rantoul woman reported Saturday afternoon that someone took several tools from an open shed on her property in the 4400 block of Jackson Road south of Rantoul. The total loss was estimated at $250.
