RICHMOND — A 21-year-old Paola man was injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on U.S. 59 at the Anderson-Franklin county line south of Richmond. Veronica Jerome, 45, Olathe, was driving north on U.S. 59 and slowed down and signaled to turn west onto 2500 Road, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Tryce Nelson, 21, St. Paul, was also driving north on U.S. 59 but was distracted and didn’t stop in time, colliding with her car, causing it to roll on its side, the highway patrol said. Neither were injured, but one of Jerome’s passengers, Jonathon Wright, 21, Paola, was injured and was taken to Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa. They were all wearing seat belts.
