OSAGE CITY — A Mankato pilot walked away after his plane had an mishap at the Osage City Municipal Airport Thursday afternoon. Brenden Wirth, 38, was trying to land a single-engine fixed-wing Piper. However, just as he was touching down, a wind gust blew his plane off the runway and into a field, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.
