GARNETT — The newest member of the Garnett City Commission is expected to be sworn in on Tuesday night. Judy Cole has been selected by commissioners Greg Gwin and Gordon Blackie out of four applicants to fill the unexpired term of Preston Peine, who recently moved out of state. Cole has been the principal of Prairie Creek Elementary School in the Spring Hill district for 12 years. Cole began her teaching career in Garnett.
