OTTAWA — Ottawa police talked someone off the Prairie Spirit Trail bridge Tuesday afternoon noon after the person threatened to jump into the Marais des Cygnes River. Firefighters were stationed downstream from the bridge for a possible water rescue if the person jumped, Ottawa Fire Chief Tim Mathias said. The person agreed to come off the bridge ledge and was taken into protective custody, he said.
