OTTAWA — A motorcyclist was taken to Ransom Memorial Hospital after he hit a deer east of Ottawa late Saturday night. Devin Bruce, 19, Ottawa, was riding west on 15th Street just west of Montana Road when a deer came onto the road from the north, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Bruce tried to miss the deer, but struck it. A member of his family drove him to the hospital. The highway patrol said he was wearing a helmet.
