POMONA — Franklin County’s newest millionaires couldn’t have found out at a better time. The couple, who the Kansas Lottery says asked not to be identified, matched five out of six winning numbers to win $2 million in last week’s half-billion-dollar Mega-Millions drawing last week. They were sitting in a hospital emergency room waiting for treatment for one of their children, when they checked a cell phone and checked their numbers and discovered they won. The father said the family has had a lot of health issues in the last few months, including their daughter who was in the hospital for a month and in-and-out after that; and the father, who suffered a heart attack. They bought the winning ticket at the Casey’s General Store in Pomona.
