QUENEMO — An 18-year-old Lyndon man has been identified as the person who was killed last week by a train southeast of Quenemo. The investigation has been continuing on whether the death of Austin McWilliams was an accident or intentional act, Osage County Sheriff Laurie Dunn said. Dunn has asked anyone with information of McWilliams’ whereabouts prior to yesterday morning at 3:30 a.m. Monday, July 18, to call Osage County Crime Stoppers at 1-877-OSCRIME or the sheriff’s office at 785-828-3121. Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad employees called the sheriff’s office that they spotted McWilliams sitting on the bridge over the Marais des Cygnes River near 269th and Stubbs roads. By the time deputies arrived, he had been hit by a train.
