OTTAWA — Local members of the United Steel Workers union picketed the Ottawa office of Kansas Gas Service this morning and intend to continue picketing this evening. The picketing is occurring across southeast Kansas to pressure the company, which is a division of One Gas, to negotiate an agreement with the union. The contract expired Friday night. Workers said they aren’t striking yet and that they would report to work. Today’s picketing is intended as informational picket.
