CARBONDALE — Two people were sent to a Topeka hospital Thursday morning following a weather-related pileup on U.S. 75 south of Carbondale. Michael Hays, 58, Topeka, was driving a Kansas Dept. of Transportation snow plow north on U.S. 75 when his truck was rear-ended by a Jeep driven by old Dakota Lynch-Adams, 20, Scranton, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. That set off a chain-reaction crash that involved three other vehicles, the highway patrol said. Lynch-Adams was injured and was taken to St. Francis Medical Center. Hays wasn’t injured.  Another driver, James Adams, Jr., 43, Topeka; was also injured and was taken to St Francis. The two other drivers weren’t injured. They were Kelli Doty, 47, and Kelly Shrimplin, 57, both of Carbondale. A 4-year-old passenger in Doty’s mini-van wasn’t injured.
