OTTAWA — The first Ottawa legislative coffee of the year is 10 a.m. Saturday morning at Ottawa City Hall, weather permitting. The coffee gives people a chance to hear and question area legislators. This year is especially important because of the state’s serious financial problems, he said. With a powerful ice storm predicted to hit the area this weekend, the coffee could be cancelled. Coen said the decision to cancel will likely be made Saturday morning prior to the coffee. The coffee is sponsored by the chamber’s Legislative Action Committee, the Franklin County Farm Bureau Association, and American Legion Post 60. Refreshments will be provided by the county Republican central committee.
