OTTAWA — Two men are in the Franklin County jail in connection with a home invasion robbery Monday evening. Police were dispatched to a disturbance involving weapons in the 900 block of East 8th Street at about 7 p.m., said assistant police chief Adam Weingartner. Officers were told two men entered the home, threatened two women with handguns, then fled in a vehicle. Officers saw a vehicle matching the description at a distance near Lincoln Street as it traveled east on East 15th Street, leaving the city limits, he said. The vehicle was located after it drove into a farm field in the 2500 block Montana Road after the driver lost control of it on gravel went off the road. Two men left the vehicle; one fled on foot into an open field. Jacob Kennedy, 27, Ottawa; was arrested at the vehicle. He was armed with a handgun, Weingartner said. A canine with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office located Donivan Perryman, 32, Lawrence; hiding in a nearby field, Weingartner said . A second handgun and undisclosed evidence was recovered in a field nearby. Kennedy and Perryman were booked for suspicion of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, battery, theft, and interference with a law Enforcement officer. Perryman was also booked for two outstanding Douglas County warrants for failure to appear in court. Both are being held in jail, pending formal charges.
