GARNETT — An Ottawa attorney is suing Anderson County and the city of Garnett for injuries he received after he slipped on ice at the county jail than two years ago. The Anderson County Review reports Forrest Lowry left the jail Feb. 17, 2015, and slipped and fell, breaking his ankle. In his filing, Lowry said the city and county were negligent in keeping the sidewalk clear and safe for pedestrians. He’s asking for $75,000 and court costs. No court hearing has been set.
