OTTAWA — The 312th Army Jazz Band will perform 7 p.m. May 6 at the Ottawa Memorial Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public. The program will include concert band, brass band, and large popular music rock group and will feature genres of music ranging from patriotic and traditional marches to rock music under the baton of commander and bandmaster Nicholas Proctor, chief warrant officer; and First Sgt. Cardell Edwards. Ottawa High School band director Courtney Nichols will guest conduct. The 312th Army Band features a marching band, concert band, jazz band, rock band, jazz combo, blues band, brass quintet, woodwind quintet, and ceremonial detail. The band, which is stationed in Lawrence, is made up of 40 members of the U.S. Army Reserve.
