CARBONDALE — A Bourbon County man was killed and a woman hospitalized as a result of a one-vehicle crash north of Carbondale Tuesday afternoon. Eric Lucas, 56, Redfield, was driving a 1996 Chevy Tahoe and a trailer north on U.S. 75 near East 117th Street, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. The SUV blew a tire, went off the road, and overturned in the ditch. The highway patrol said Lucas wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. His passenger, 53-year-old Amanda Lucas, 56, Redfield; was injured and was taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was wearing a seat belt.
