TOPEKA — The deadline for the Kansas Dept. of Transportation safety poster contest is Sept. 22, and the video contest is Sept. 24. The contests are part of KDOT’s “Put the Brakes on Fatalities Safety Day” campaign. The poster contest is for Kansas kids ages 5-13. Austin Lamb, Osage City, was a regional winner last year. The video contest is for Kansas teens in grades 8 through 12. A team from the Spring Hill Middle School won third place in the state contest last year.
