GARNETT — A man from Paola and a man from Olathe were injured when their SUV hit a semi-truck south of Garnett Wednesday evening. Marvin McGee, 53, Sparta, N.C., was driving south on U.S. 169 six miles south of Garnett when he tried to make a left turn, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Justin Redburn, 33, Paola; was also driving south on U.S. 169, pulling a car trailer, but couldn’t stop and ran into the back of the truck trailer, the highway patrol said. Redburn and his passenger, 28-year-old Kelly Kyle of Olathe, were taken to Anderson County Hospital in Garnett. The highway patrol said Redburn wasn’t wearing a seatbelt but Kyle was. The trucker wasn’t injured.
