OTTAWA — The Ottawa Fire Department was called to the Super 8 Motel in south Ottawa Wednesday afternoon after a man came into contact with a power line. A middle-age man on the backside of the building putting up a metal ladder and got too close to the power line, Fire Chief Tim Mathias said. The man received medical aid and utility crews were asked to check the power line line, he said. The man, who was not identified, was awake and talking as an ambulance left the scene, he said. No information on the extent of his injuries was available.
