WICHITA — A 28-year-old Missouri man has pleaded guilty in federal court in Wichita to robbing Landmark National Bank in Osage City. Hunter Prewitt, Mountain Grove; pleaded guilty Monday to bank robbery. Prewitt walked into the bank Jan. 25 and gave a teller a note demanding money. He drove away in a white pickup. By using a description of the truck, investigators tracked his movements through video surveillance photos to a gas station in Osage City and a pawn shop in Lyndon, U.S. Attorney Tom Beall said. The Missouri Highway Patrol used that information to identify a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup to Prewitt. Beall said a Kansas Bureau of Investigation analyst searched law enforcement tag readers to narrow the search for Prewitt. He was arrested near Springfield, Mo. Sentencing is Dec. 18.
