MELVERN LAKE — Authorities are asking the public’s help in identifying the body of a woman found at Melvern Lake Aug. 25. The woman was likely murdered sometime between last fall and July, more likely between April and July, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation said. Washburn University forensic experts report the woman is most likely Hispanic but could be white as well, the KBI said. She was 35 to 50 years old but could be 30 to 65. She was approximately 5-feet, 2 inches; to 5-foot, 8-inches tall. She was wearing a small “No Boundaries” shirt, ‘Helix’ pants sized 32-by-30, and a “Fruit of the Loom” bra sized 44. She was wearing a silver ring spelling out the word ‘love’ in cursive writing, gold or bronze ring with red stone, silver bangle bracelet, and gold or bronze frame eyeglasses.
