BALDWIN CITY — Among the draftees for World War I, American railroads. Railroad expert and author Rudy Daniels will discuss how the railroads were mobilized to move massive numbers of troops, ammunition and equipment across the country for the war effort. Daniels’ talk will be 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Baldwin City Library. His most recent book deals with World War I railroading. He’s also a member of the Midland Railway, the excursion railroad based in Baldwin City and run by a volunteer group. The Midland Railway also provides the trains for the Prairie Belle Dinner Train, which is also based in Baldwin City.
