LANE – A home in Lane received heavy damage because of a fire Wednesday evening. Betty McCall, 65, called firefighters when she saw flames coming from the roof of her house in the 700 block of West Fifth Street, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department said. There was no immediate cause of the fire determined, nor was there an estimate of the damage.
