MOUND CITY — A 55-year-old Linn County man will get nearly 12 years in prison for attacking a law enforcement officer while he was in jail in August. The attorney general’s office said John Teters was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery on a law enforcement officer. The statement didn’t describe the attack nor did it say if the officer, John Carr, was injured.
