TOPEKA — An Osage City man was killed Friday afternoon when his pickup rolled over several times on U.S. 75 south of Topeka. Harold Poertner, 73, was driving north on U.S. 75 when his pickup went off the road to the right and dropped into the ditch, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. He turned left to get back on the road but over-corrected, putting the truck into a spin, the highway patrol said. The truck slid sideways across the north-bound lanes and into the median, where it rolled over several times across the south-bound lanes and into the west ditch. The highway patrol said he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
