OTTAWA – Ottawa Mayor Sara Caylor has been named to the Community and Economic Development Committee of the National League of Cities. The committee helps draft federal policies regarding issues such as housing, economic development, land use, recreation and parks, historic preservation and international competitiveness to be used by NLC lobbyists when talking to members of Congress. Members of the committee will also help talk to congressional and administration officials. With the city and county developing Proximity Park, Caylor said the national economic perspective that comes from being on the committee will be valuable. “I look forward to the opportunity to represent as well as advocate for the city of Ottawa and other cities in our area,” she said.
