OTTAWA- The City of Ottawa is about to lose a long-time employee due to retirement. Ottawa Finance Director Scott Bird is retiring after 37 years with the city, 27 of those in the finance department. He began his career in the power pant in 1981, he worked there for 10 years and then attended Ottawa University. Upon graduation, he went into the finance department, eventually working his way up to finance director.
Bird plans to stay busy. He says he wants to spend time with family and put more time into his ministry at the Cornerstone Church in Ottawa. His last day will be in late September.
