A Paola man has been charged in connection with a stabbing that led to the death of a Kansas City man. 57-year-old Voncento Lucasta, also known as Morgan Speakman, was arrested Monday in Kansas City after an investigation by Shawnee Police and the Kansas City Metro Squad. He has been charged with premeditated first-degree murder in the death of 57-year-old David Paterno who was stabbed to death and discovered by police August 8th in Shawnee. His next court appearance is August 23rd. The Kansas City Star reports Lucasta has a lengthy criminal record, spending time in prison in Kansas and Missouri, including a 15-year sentence for armed robbery in 2001. Lucasta appeared in Johnson County Court yesterday afternoon. His bond has been set at 2 million dollars.
