With the official end of summer weekend upon us, area lakes are looking for a very busy weekend. Labor Day Weekend traditionally is the last fling for families to get out and enjoy the lakes and spend some quality family time together. Despite both swimming beached being closed due to blue-green algae, officials at Melvern Lake say the campgrounds are nearly full. There is very limited availability at all the campgrounds and the only sites left are primitive sites with no utilities. Lake levels are slightly down, but recent rains have brought them up. They are urging people to be careful on the water and wear life jackets but to come on out and enjoy the weekend.
