Up until now, if you lived on a culdesac, you probably did not have a sidewalk in front of your house. Depending on the street width, sidewalks are only required on one side and the city would terminate the sidewalk as it entered the culdesac. Public Works Director Michael Haefle says the department would like to change the policy.
The issue will be discussed further at the regular city commission meeting tomorrow.
