There has been action to choose a replacement for outgoing Franklin County Attorney Steven Hunting. Last night there were two attorneys vying for the position. One of them, Brandon Jones, who currently is County Attorney in Osage and Anderson Counties, told the County Republican Central Committee of his experience.
The Republican Committee chose Jones over competitor Fredrick Meier of Emporia. Jones plans to resign from the Osage County position and will assume office about November first. The vote was 15 to 6 in favor of Jones.
