A fire in Richmond yesterday morning destroyed a house belonging to Mike and Darla Larose. Fire crews from several departments were dispatched to the scene to assist in fighting the fire. Larose said he had been remodeling the home for the past two years and was preparing to complete another project.
He believes that the fire started in the basement, possibly in the furnace and quickly spread to the rest of the house. He says that if he and his wife had stayed in the house just a few minutes more they would not have made it out. The fire is still under investigation by the Kansas Fire Marshall.
