The United States Marine Corp celebrated its 23rd birthday, Saturday November 10th; and the ball here in Ottawa lived up to tradition. Gunnery Sargent Sarah Pacheco, daughter of Sam and Maria Pacheco, was the guest of honor, and she had to put a great deal of thought into what she had to say to her fellow Marines past and present.
Sargent Pacheco, a third generation marine, was also honored as the Franklin County Marine of the Year. The celebration also honored the 100th year of women in the corp.
