OTTAWA — It’s a street cart of desire – beefy hot dogs slathered with mustard and sauerkraut. The newest landmark in downtown Ottawa is David Reeves’ hot dog vending cart. Reeves wheeled his cart to Main Street and started cooking hot dogs Tuesday. Reeves said he and his wife had been looking for a business opportunity and hit on the idea of selling hot dogs. They’ve spent about eight months getting state food permits and just picked up the appropriate city licenses. So far, initial sales haven’t been bad, he said.
