WASHINGTON — The U.S. Senate has approved the Federal Aviation Administration bill this year. U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts said the bill will modernize the nation’s air traffic control system, improve regional and rural air service and enhance safety for all passengers. Roberts said a general-aviation tax was stripped from the bill, which will protect the jobs of Kansas aviation workers. The Senate bill will have to be reconciled with a House version.
