A new business in Garnett is taking off but it took a while to get on track. Katie Yoder has opened All Star Gymnastics at 511 Oak. She is no stranger to the gymnastics world. She grew up in the sport and moved to cheerleading in high school earning a cheer scholarship to Peru State University. However, an injury dashed that opportunity and so she put her focus on coaching.
She says it took nearly 8 months to find a suitable building and after some major modifications to the building, she was ready to open last month. Yoder teaches “Artistic” gymnastics, the same style as the Olympics with vaults, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise, and she takes on kids ranging from the very young up to 18 years old. She says that her plan is to field a competitive team of local gymnasts for the 2019-2020 season. If you or your child are interested in learning more about the gymnastics program, stop by All-Star Gymnastics.
